The Asheville Performing Arts Academy facilitates a life-long appreciation and advocacy of the arts by providing a loving community where students discover the tools needed to navigate life on and off the stage.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR TEAM ABOUT COVID-19
Dear APAA families,
We are in uncertain times and want to keep everyone healthy and safe. That includes doing our part to minimize the risk and rate of exposure.
Classes at APAA will be moving to distance learning beginning Monday, March 16th until we get the clear from Buncombe County and CDC Officials. We will send around information about how to access Zoom calls and class programming via social media. Given the continued uncertainty of COVID-19’s trajectory, we’re aware that any plans may ultimately have to shift, yet again. We’re prepared for that possibility. In the meantime, we’ll keep monitoring the situation closely.
Please rest assured that our first priority is the well-being of our students and their families, and all scheduling decisions will be made with this in mind. Once conditions are deemed safe by public health professionals and political leaders, we intend to honor our commitment to providing a space and time for your students to share and celebrate their hard work. In short, the show will go on, even if we can’t be sure precisely when!
Engagement in the arts is one of the best ways to make meaning, cultivate empathy, and find little bits of joy in the face of struggle. This truth is what gets us out of bed every day to do what we do as artists and teachers, and it’s why we remain committed to providing quality learning experiences for young performing artists.
Thank you for supporting us and each other. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Be safe and stay healthy,
Heather and APAA team.
